A RIVER’S TRUE SONG

Tell me,

do you know

where Divinity

hides the dawn?

Have you seen

where She cradles

the stars,

or how He strews them

like diamonds

dancing in the froth

on the ceiling of the world?

Do you not know?

He has set eternity in your heart.

The Waters of Life

are within you.

Be the vase, then,

that’s willing to shatter.

Break yourself open

and through your broken places

let your waters

pour out from you.

Be a drink offering.

Water the world.

You needn’t worry

at the loss.

This unfolding

carries hidden graces.

Quiet resurrections

dance playfully

in dalliance

with the shoreline.

There is no fear in it

only the clear satisfaction

of a river’s true song:

All will be Beautiful in its time.
