My friend Eric Bryant has a new project coming out today called A Fruitful Life: Becoming Who You Were Created To Be.
You may know of Eric from his work at Gateway Church in Austin or at Mosaic in Los Angeles or from his previous book Not Like Me: A Field Guide for Influencing a Diverse World .
I asked Eric to tell us about his new project and what makes it unique. Here are some of his thoughts:
Mike: What is A Fruitful Life all about?
Eric: In front of one of the largest crowds he ever encountered, Jesus shared a message of hope for our future. He shared the parable of the soils which describes the possibility that our lives could become fruitful. In the Scriptures, to be fruitful means experiencing a transformed life (fruit of the Spirit) and transforming the lives of others (“a harvest among you”).
Too often, we settle for mediocrity. Instead, we need to pursue our destiny as described by Jesus ~ a life with unlimited potential to make a difference in the lives of others.
Our fears, weaknesses, past mistakes, regrets, background, and the trials we face do not have to keep us from being fruitful.
A Fruitful Life will help you with the following:
- Discover your calling.
- Make decisions using a grid for hearing God’s voice
- Overcome the most painful moments of life.
- Make progress in areas where you are most tempted.
- Experience renewal and bring change to others.
Mike: Those are some bold claims!
Eric: Jesus never pulled punches! Applying the Scriptures to our life and developing the skills derived from the parable of the soils really is life-changing. I have seen God do remarkable things in my life, in the lives of others who went through this material in small groups, and in the lives of those who experienced the material in the context of a retreat or sermon series. When we are spiritually receptive, tenacious, intentional, and proactive, we are in the right place for God to work in our lives and through our lives.
Mike: What makes this project different from others?
Eric: Many of the leaders I interact with love innovation and being on the edge of creativity, so it was important to me to share this message in a way they would enjoy and would help the most people. By teaming with the great folks at Snippet, we are offering something that is far more interactive than a paperback and much more than an e-book. Each Snippet in this series includes videos and other discoverables, plus the ability to interact with each other.
Mike: You mentioned you have a special offer for those who frequent my blog.
Eric: I do! I appreciate so much what you do for faith leaders and their teams!
